AI After UI
Claude as Design Lead: UX/UI reviews and Testing

Bu sevda bende dursun…
If you’re the lone wolf type like me, and you own design projects from A →Z you will need this. We know you can use AI for speed prototyping and research, but it can also be your design lead; you can use Claude skills and let it be a senior designer who can catch nasty surprises before you present UI to clients:
1. Accessibility & Usability Check
Karşuya kayaluğa, çiçekler ekilurmi?
You’re NOT the user, Hanan. Oh, how often I try to remind myself of that while designing. We base our designs on assumptions deduced from research. We do our best to put ourselves in the user’s shoes but -especially for oddballs like me- that isn’t always easy...whatever, normal is overrated 🙃. But you can use Claude to catch your UX misses before you client does:
Install the Design plugin by Anthropic.

2. Use the skills to audit the usability & accessibility. Examples:
2. UI & design system policing
Bezdum Allah bezdum al bu canumi…Bir zaluma Verdum ben bu kalbumi
Thank God it no longer takes ages to align UI with the design system after getting a little too creative…not even when you’re working solo.
What? it’s hard to stick to system when the client says the design is “boring”. As if a direct manager needs a fanfare of trumpets to entertain them on screen while they approve their team member’s leave request 🙄…just an example of the joys of design feedback.
Install the apply-design-system skill.
Audit your UI file or a single node.
Then
Or you can do /review-then-apply if you don’t know where the misses are.
3. Usability testing prep & reporting
Yoldaş olurum yoluna çiçek açarum daluna
Tell it who to be and it shall be.
A testing partner
Use /implement-design skill by Figma to make a realistic prototype of your UI.
Give Claude the project context, testing candidate personas and main journeys and ask it to prepare usability testing tasks, scenarios and questions.
After the test, share transcripts, sheets or figjam. Ask for analysis of every journey..charts or descriptions.
I only used it like this once. Mind-blowing tbh.
A tester — when you don’t have the resources for a real UT session
Describe the persona, the task and share the prototype link. Talk to claude as if it were human. It isn’t, and you should always rethink the answers, but it is better than no UT at all.

Bottomline is that it is a great time to be solo designer. It used be very taxing on a design team of one to have nobody to check their work before they present. But not anymore. Take it and be grateful, but don’t get too attached…
Claude in design is getting really good..too good to be true…which means it is about to either get too expensive when the creators get greedy enough or it will break and disappear and we would have to go back to old ways. Stay grounded and enjoy it while it lasts.
Al başumdan sevdani da yok mudur sende iman

How are you using AI in UI stage? please share. ‘Till next time, lots of love and #keepdesigning!
DISCLAIMER: I use Yüksel Baltacı’s song lyrics as theme anchors throughout this post because I am OBSESSED with the man’s words. I don’t own any music. Just my tips, tricks and figma files…
Turkish folk music + AI in design. Another impossible combo; I know. But you should know me by now 🤷🏻♀️
