Things Ruined by Generators
Much as I love the ease and power artificial assistants brought into my life, I can't deny the things they ruined…
The Color Purple
You don't need to be a designer to notice it. Every other generated design is covered in purple gradients that it became normal to assume any purple design to be purely AI. If a branding designer cares about their or their team's credibility they would be wise to steer clear of purple hues for any product.
Interesting though..why do generators go for purple?
Good Vocabulary
I have been reading classics since my early teens and I speak four languages, but once I use a word like ‘hubris,' people immediately assume it's generated. It isn't my fault you don't read 😪 I'm fighting to prove my content's authenticity. Is culture a crime now?
Respect
Thanks to note-takers, superhuman and quick summaries; people do not pay respect to any communication from others. Never present fully in a conversation and never willing to spend precious seconds to listen or read. Time is the most expensive gift to give. Now more than ever.
True Skill
I didn't know how far this has become until I recently had the chance to hear a few different designers defending UI work assisted or fully generated by AI. Designers with true skill could defend their design decisions..the others were catching at straws to save the conversation. This speaks volumes about design these days.
Design feedback
Now this one is different. Just like taking a sip of the world's purest water and never being able to drink normal water again. When you ask Claude to give you structured design critique, it truly goes deep into every detail and gives clear, targeted actionable feedback. Not 'I don't like it' 🙄. Taste & human mood have very heavy influence on design feedback, something technology will forever lack. And this will make us all rely more on it for feedback. Dangerous.
Ok, rant over.
What about you? did AI ruin anything for you?
